Shields (Driffield) Ltd is a family owned, mechanical engineering and bulk processing company, established in 1984. Our premises are based in Driffield, East Yorkshire, offering nationwide services. We offer a full mechanical engineering service package, from initial consultation through to final commissioning.

Shields can provide a fully comprehensive fabrication service from the smallest transition through to large bulk silos, manufactured to the highest standards by fully qualified fabricators, to meet current CE legislation.

At Shields, we have a purpose-built workshop, fully equipped with a CNC laser, CNC HD plasma, press brake, guillotine, and other specialist equipment. Unit 4, Pexton Road is also home to our own painting facility, offices and classroom facilities.

At Shields, we have the ability to combine design, manufacture, fabrication and installation to fulfil client’s specifications, supplying a complete project from start to finish.

Our experience allows us to understand the complexity of our client’s real time business needs. Shields (Driffield) Ltd operate across a wide variety of industry sectors and as a result, have an extensive range of challenging and complex projects already completed.

Shields can provide installation services nationwide as well as all over Europe.

Our maintenance teams are provided with fully equipped vehicles fitted with modern power tools, lifting equipment, and welding equipment that all adhere to the latest LOLER and PUWER regulations. Each installation team is managed by a fully qualified supervisor who works closely with the project manager to enable we provide a streamlined service.

Building extension

Shields can design and install a wide variety of materials handling and processing systems including conveyors, elevators, blowers, ducting, slides, valves, hoppers, silos and many more.

We can help you create new projects from initial design or alternatively we can work around your existing machinery. As we have our own fabrication workshop on site we can manufacture bespoke products to ensure your company gets the best possible result.
