Shields are experienced in managing the Principle Contractor Role and advising the client on managing their duties under the current CDM Regulations.  Shields are experienced at managing the health, safety and welfare on site and controlling other contractors ensuring safety is a top priority.

Prior to works commencing, Shields ensure necessary planning and organisation of the project has been carried out. Site Surveys, risk assessments and method statements are carried out and communicated to our staff.  Staff competency, training and supervision is considered to ensure our clients get the right team for their specific project.  Shields are fully aware of the disruption site works can cause the client and as such liaise with the client to plan our works, ensuring works are carried out in a safe and timely manner, resulting in projects completed on time, in budget and with minimum down time.

Management hold recognised Health & Safety qualifications such as the NEBOSH Certificate. With supervision holding a minimum of Site Supervisor qualifications by the CITB and some holding Site Management safety certification, all in all demonstrating that safety is embedded in culture.
